The North Wales Corporate Joint Committee (CJC) is a regional corporate body established to enhance collaboration and strategic planning across North Wales. It brings together six Local Authorities and the Snowdonia National Park Authority to address key regional priorities.
The North Wales CJC is responsible for the following statutory functions:
- Preparing a Strategic Development Plan
- Preparing a Regional Transport Plan
- Enhancing and promoting the economic well-being of the North Wales region
As a corporate body, the North Wales CJC has responsibilities similar to other public bodies, including:
- Setting and managing its annual budget
- Establishing and overseeing sub-committees as needed
- Appointing key officers to support its functions
- Ensuring compliance with relevant public body duties and regulations
The North Wales CJC comprises:
- Representatives from six Local Authorities in North Wales
- A representative from the Snowdonia National Park Authority
Established following Welsh Government regulations in April 2021, the North Wales CJC became fully operational on 30 June 2022, marking a new era of regional collaboration and strategic planning for North Wales.
