• Comtek Group now has offices in Deeside (Wales, HQ), Reading, Frankfurt, Belfast and an R&D/ manufacturing operation in Silicon Valley, California due to the acquisition of SORRENTO NETWORKS. Sorrento Networks has moved most of its R&D and manufacturing to Wales, making it the only British owned manufacturer of WDM products in the UK
• Askar has always focused part of his time working closely with business communities, local authorities, Welsh and central Governments. He vigorously campaigned and encouraged the Welsh Government to designate Deeside as an Enterprise Zone. He launched a campaign for the establishment of Full Fibre Digital Connectivity infrastructure in North Wales. Askar was appointed by the Welsh Government’s Economy Minister in 2011 to promote entrepreneurship in Wales. Since his appointment, he has created a community-based Business Entrepreneurship Network (BEN), a network of successful local entrepreneurs and other stakeholders
• Askar received a prestigious “Local Hero” award from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and Fast Growth Business journal for his work in promoting enterprise and entrepreneurship in North Wales. 2012

• Liam is Executive Director of Theatr Clwyd, the largest producing theatre in Wales. The company employs over 500 people each year including core, casual and freelance workers and enjoys over 200,000 visitors annually alongside exporting productions across the UK and internationally – including to the West End
• Before moving to Clwyd Liam worked for York Theatre Royal as Associate Producer, was General Manager at Sheffield Crucible Theatres, and set up two production companies in London, both of which continue to deliver work across the world
• As well as his involvement with the Business Delivery Board, Liam also sits on The Wales Arts Health and Well-being Network Steering Group, The UK Theatre Workforce Group and is the Chair of Creu Cymru – the membership organisation for live performance and all professionally run theatres, concert halls and arts centres in Wales

• Prof. John M. Reynolds holds a BSc in Geological Geophysics (1977, Reading University) and a PhD in Glacio-geophysics (1983, Reading University and British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge).  He has held posts at the British Antarctic Survey (5 years); 1½ years predominantly in Nigeria, West Africa, for an international consultancy firm (Cambridge); taught applied geophysics and environmental management at what is now Plymouth University (7 years); followed by three years working for a geological consultancy in Deeside
• In September 1994, he founded his own specialist geological and geophysical consultancy company in Mold, NE Wales.  He was appointed as an Honorary Professor at Aberystwyth University, Wales, in 2005.  He has worked for three years part-time as a member of the former DTI’s Small Business Council
• His company, Reynolds Geo-Solutions Ltd., of which he is Managing Director, focusses on the Green Agenda and decarbonisation through the Renewable Energy sector for Offshore Wind Farm, Tidal Stream and Tidal Range projects; major hydropower development (especially in Asia); and in the development of multi-billion-pound major infrastructure within the UK.  He is also Technical Director (Environment) for North Wales Tidal Energy and Coastal Protection Co. Ltd (NWTE) for a proposed 2.5 GW $7 billion Tidal Range project off the North Wales coast
• He has been involved in many projects relating to natural hazards for climate change and hydropower projects since the mid-1980s internationally.  He is a member of the international Dam Safety Panel of Experts for a $2 billion hydropower project and is a Senior Adviser to The World Bank on for major transboundary hydropower initiative involving $5.5 billion of hydropower assets, all in Nepal.  He has also acted as a consultant to the World Bank on developing technical protocols for financial screening of multi-billion-dollar hydropower projects to build resilience to the impacts of climate change
