Councillor Dyfrig Siencyn took the decision to step down as Leader of Cyngor Gwynedd, and consequently, as Chair of the North Wales Economic Ambition Board, on 17 October 2024.
Alwen Williams, Portfolio Director, Ambition North Wales, said:
“On behalf of myself and the portfolio management office I would like to sincerely thank Dyfrig for his role as Chair of the Ambition Board over the past five years. Dyfrig’s leadership has been groundbreaking as we secured investment and support for the delivery of our region’s Growth Deal, and more recently in leading on the establishment of the North Wales Corporate Joint Committee. His contribution at a regional level has been key to North Wales’ economy and we are grateful for his vision and unwavering support over the years.”
Councillor Mark Pritchard, Leader, Wrexham County Borough Council, who is Vice-Chair of the Economic Ambition Board, said:
“I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Dyfrig. Working closely with him as a fellow council Leader on the Ambition Board has been a privilege.
