The North Wales Regional Skills Partnership is delighted to sponsor a new award at this year’s Go North Wales Tourism Awards, celebrating the best skills and business innovation within the sector.
The exciting new award called the 'Go Skills Award', will provide needed recognition to hard-working individuals in the region's tourism sector. Businesses or individuals can submit nominations for this award or several other categories before the submissions close on the 10th of October.
Sian Lloyd Roberts, the Regional Skills Manager, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring this Go Skills Award at the 2022 Go North Wales Tourism Awards."
"The tourism sector contributes £0.7m (GVA) to the North Wales economy and is a career to almost 35,000 people in the region. The sector has had a challenging few years, and there is a need to focus on promoting sustainable tourism in our region.”
“We want to change the narrative that the tourism sector is only for seasonal jobs and ensure that people and businesses consider the long-term career opportunities within the sector. There is a variety of interesting and rewarding career options within the tourism sector, which offer flexibility as well as career development . We are excited about the awards and to meet the successful nominee.”
The awards organisers, North Wales Tourism, are excited for the awards to run for their sixth consecutive year. Jim Jones, Chief Executive of North Wales Tourism and representative on the Regional Skills Partnership board, said: “The Regional Skills Partnership is a perfect fit to sponsor this category.”
“The tourism and hospitality sector has a huge skills shortage and I have witnessed first-hand the work the Partnership undertake to help our industry. This is a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution a person or business makes to the skills side of tourism and hospitality.”
The ceremony will be held at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, on the 24th of November and will be hosted by broadcaster Sian Lloyd. To submit your nomination or for more information: www.gonorthwalestourismawards.website
