Connected Key Sites and Corridors (4G+)
This project will improve 4G mobile connectivity at key economic sites in the region, targeting transport routes, business and tourism hubs while supporting the further deployment of 5G network coverage in these areas.
The project brings together public sector organisations and the telecommunications industry to accelerate the delivery of new mobile infrastructure. Through the North Wales Digital Connectivity Forum, it helps reduce barriers, improve co-ordination, and attract investment into the region’s digital networks.
The 4G+ Project also supports the rollout of infrastructure in priority locations. This includes enabling public sector organisations to make their assets available for mobile infrastructure deployment through establishing Open Access Agreements, and delivering both public sector and industry grant schemes to fund the upgrade and deployment of 4G and 5G infrastructure.
Together, these measures will improve coverage and reliability in key locations, helping North Wales become more connected and competitive, supporting economic growth and unlocking new opportunities. Delivery of the 4G+ Project will be completed by January 2030.
